Ahmad didn’t mean it, says Abdullah

KEPALA BATAS: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will personally see to it that Bukit Bendera Umno chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail does not repeat his remarks about the Chinese community.

“I will tell him not to do it again. You know in a campaign all sorts of things can come up. I don’t think he meant it. I’ll make sure to tell him not to use it again,” the Prime Minister said after chairing the Bertam Umno division meeting yesterday.

Ahmad had allegedly called the Chinese pendatang (immigrants) and was also reported to have said that “as the Chinese were only immigrants it was impossible to achieve equal rights amongst races” during a ceramah in Permatang Pauh in Aug 25.

He had allegedly uttered the remarks in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Penang Gerakan Youth committee member Dr Thor Teong Gee lambasted Ahmad and charged that Umno was still using racial ideology to achieve its own personal political agenda.

Bukit Mertajam MCA division chairman Lau Chiek Tuan called for disciplinary action against Ahmad.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s political secretary Ng Wei Aik also called on Ahmad to immediately retract his statement and apologise to the community.

Ahmad could not be reached for comment.

Tanjung Gerakan Youth division chief H’ng Khoon Leng lodged a police report at the district police headquarters in Patani Road over Ahmad’s alleged remarks.

MCA Youth chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said there was no reason for Ahmad to stir racial feelings with his remarks.

“This is the Merdeka month and such a racist remark should not have been made,” he added.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Umno leaders should stop using racial sentiment to seek support from the people.

My Review:

This is so ridiculous. First thing, how do you know he didn't mean the word he says. He said it infront of press and Malaysians and he touched about sensitive issues. Chinese aren't immigrant of this country. We have our Identity Card and Birth cert. and its stated that whoever borned in Malaysia will automatically get citizenship.

I don't think that the Prime Minister should help him because he just turned out to be a racist and if the Prime Minister said that he does not meant anything about what he said, Malaysians especially the Chinese community will think that you're on his side and support him. What if we, the non-muslims badmouthing about Muslims/Malay in front of the press and Malaysians? Do you think its acceptable? Do you really want the May 13 incident to happen again? This is year 2008 and its ending and you guys want to achieve Vision 2020 with this kind of behaviour and thinking? Basically, I'm not blaming all the Malays/Muslims because its not fair to them.

I think he should be heavily punished and not only apologize on media. He should be politically-punished and not able to have any conference or get involve in any political activities anymore or for a long period of time. If worse, I think he should be locked behind bars for what his action and the Prime Minister should handle this problem on his own. Malaysian would want to see what the Prime Minister will do about this and not to protect him.

New Semester , New Hope

I just received my Examination results. I'm quite happy and at the same time, it's quite disappointing.

Information Technology Principles 1 A
Elementary English A
Basic Mathematics B+ [damn this]
General Studies A
Business Studies 1 A
Malaysian Studies C [ I nvr study for this subject cause I was sick -.- ]

I know I done all my best but it's not enough for my Mathematics caused I worked my ass off for that because I knew my Maths was like the worst of all the subject except for Malaysian Studies. Its okay, everybody is surprised because of that. I went for enrollment today and it was quite fast and smooth.

My new semester's session/section will be 9B1 and this is the only class for IT Student. I'm shocked to found out that there are only around 24+ students from March and May intake taking IT pathway and there are like 7Class for Business student each consist of 35+ students. I find it IMPOSSIBLE!

Edit: LOL~ Just received an update on my IntiOnline

All credits all to IntiOnline. ( I might get sued for copying their image.. cause INTI only love money)

I'm luckily to get good lecturers for my IT subject, just the Moral Education lecturer.. a bit sucky cause he did not like my sister and I think he still remember her and prob will know I'm her brother because of our unique surname. Oh well, who know.

There's another thing, lately there have been hackers on MSN Live Messenger and I'll like to advice you guys NOT to accept any unknown/small files [50KB~100KB] files and make sure that your Antivirus is up-to-date.

Last and not least, I'll like to thank you guys for the outing on Alex's birthday and the other outing we did.

Well, see ya guys whenever I'm free on Saturday and Sunday.
