Ahmad didn’t mean it, says Abdullah

KEPALA BATAS: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will personally see to it that Bukit Bendera Umno chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail does not repeat his remarks about the Chinese community.

“I will tell him not to do it again. You know in a campaign all sorts of things can come up. I don’t think he meant it. I’ll make sure to tell him not to use it again,” the Prime Minister said after chairing the Bertam Umno division meeting yesterday.

Ahmad had allegedly called the Chinese pendatang (immigrants) and was also reported to have said that “as the Chinese were only immigrants it was impossible to achieve equal rights amongst races” during a ceramah in Permatang Pauh in Aug 25.

He had allegedly uttered the remarks in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Penang Gerakan Youth committee member Dr Thor Teong Gee lambasted Ahmad and charged that Umno was still using racial ideology to achieve its own personal political agenda.

Bukit Mertajam MCA division chairman Lau Chiek Tuan called for disciplinary action against Ahmad.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s political secretary Ng Wei Aik also called on Ahmad to immediately retract his statement and apologise to the community.

Ahmad could not be reached for comment.

Tanjung Gerakan Youth division chief H’ng Khoon Leng lodged a police report at the district police headquarters in Patani Road over Ahmad’s alleged remarks.

MCA Youth chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said there was no reason for Ahmad to stir racial feelings with his remarks.

“This is the Merdeka month and such a racist remark should not have been made,” he added.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Umno leaders should stop using racial sentiment to seek support from the people.

My Review:

This is so ridiculous. First thing, how do you know he didn't mean the word he says. He said it infront of press and Malaysians and he touched about sensitive issues. Chinese aren't immigrant of this country. We have our Identity Card and Birth cert. and its stated that whoever borned in Malaysia will automatically get citizenship.

I don't think that the Prime Minister should help him because he just turned out to be a racist and if the Prime Minister said that he does not meant anything about what he said, Malaysians especially the Chinese community will think that you're on his side and support him. What if we, the non-muslims badmouthing about Muslims/Malay in front of the press and Malaysians? Do you think its acceptable? Do you really want the May 13 incident to happen again? This is year 2008 and its ending and you guys want to achieve Vision 2020 with this kind of behaviour and thinking? Basically, I'm not blaming all the Malays/Muslims because its not fair to them.

I think he should be heavily punished and not only apologize on media. He should be politically-punished and not able to have any conference or get involve in any political activities anymore or for a long period of time. If worse, I think he should be locked behind bars for what his action and the Prime Minister should handle this problem on his own. Malaysian would want to see what the Prime Minister will do about this and not to protect him.

New Semester , New Hope

I just received my Examination results. I'm quite happy and at the same time, it's quite disappointing.

Information Technology Principles 1 A
Elementary English A
Basic Mathematics B+ [damn this]
General Studies A
Business Studies 1 A
Malaysian Studies C [ I nvr study for this subject cause I was sick -.- ]

I know I done all my best but it's not enough for my Mathematics caused I worked my ass off for that because I knew my Maths was like the worst of all the subject except for Malaysian Studies. Its okay, everybody is surprised because of that. I went for enrollment today and it was quite fast and smooth.

My new semester's session/section will be 9B1 and this is the only class for IT Student. I'm shocked to found out that there are only around 24+ students from March and May intake taking IT pathway and there are like 7Class for Business student each consist of 35+ students. I find it IMPOSSIBLE!

Edit: LOL~ Just received an update on my IntiOnline

All credits all to IntiOnline. ( I might get sued for copying their image.. cause INTI only love money)

I'm luckily to get good lecturers for my IT subject, just the Moral Education lecturer.. a bit sucky cause he did not like my sister and I think he still remember her and prob will know I'm her brother because of our unique surname. Oh well, who know.

There's another thing, lately there have been hackers on MSN Live Messenger and I'll like to advice you guys NOT to accept any unknown/small files [50KB~100KB] files and make sure that your Antivirus is up-to-date.

Last and not least, I'll like to thank you guys for the outing on Alex's birthday and the other outing we did.

Well, see ya guys whenever I'm free on Saturday and Sunday.

Stop! Stare! and Don't Go!

First and foremost, I'll like to apologize to everyone. I know I promised to make a post on last Wednesday on my Chatbox, but I did not have the time to do so because of presentations. These few weeks, I've been busy with them and didn't even have the time for myself. When I've time, I'll just sleep! LOL! There have been downs and ups these past few weeks. I decided to write em down for you guys to read!

First of all, I'm glad that I get 8/10 marks for my General Studies Test 2, which improved one mark from the previous test. I never thought that I'll get 8 marks because I did not actually finish the third essay. LOL! For my Mathematic Test 2, I got 50/50! Yay! Full marks! I'm shocked too, never thought I will get full mark because there's only two people that got full marks ( one of em is me :P )

Lets get into presentation. Basically, my MPW presentation was like, ugh, the best if compared in my group ( I know what you're thinking right now.. "muka tembok") But I'm quite upset with the assignment + presentation mark for myself which is 40/55! I know that the problem isn't from my presentation, but from the assignment. Speaking about presentation, I'm having two presentation tomorrow, or to be exact, TODAY! and another on TUESDAY. OMG ( not god, but gosh ), I'll be freaking tired. But its OK because WEDNESDAY is a public holiday for NEGERI SEMBILAN, which means NO CLASS! YESSS!, but.. final in two weeks.. have to study T.T!

Speaking about presentation, that fellow got jealous and spread his own 'rumors' and badmouthing my style of presenting to other people in the class. One of 'his' girlfriend told me.

Jessica : He say the way you present is like ...................
Me : Why he so nosy one?
Jessica : Biasalah... jealous mah..
Me : Haha!

Lol, she actually hates him and the whole class know he's after her. ( MUKA like MONKEY! )
And the funny part is, he used my style of presenting to present his General Studies report. How Funny!? Very Funny. I was like WTF?? Say me then own self copy people's style. BTW, when he's presenting, no one actually care about him.

OK, I'm quite tired of talking about that Jealous-Hearted Super Duper Ultimate CopyCat Freak or 4SOF ( Super Syok Sendiri Show Off Freak ) , which he always showing off his iTouch or something liddat. Cheh, like I can't afford to buy one liddat. 8GB = RM1.4K only mah! (LOL, actually no money.. )

Last Thursday, I received a sms from my Business Studies group member, she wrote :

" Eh, the mgt assignment information I cant find, then I dont wan find d...then I also dunno how.. I dont wan find d."

I was like WTH? WTF? Is she forcing me to do her part? I'm not the leader, why SMS ME? I didnt reply her, instead I ask the leader to deal with her. Is not like I'm forcing her to do that part because we randomly pick the number after dividing the task. She kept on saying I'm doing the easy part! I picked the number the last OK!? I'm quite upset with the group assignment which is why my I'm doing my IT assignment alone!

Finals in two week, time to be equipped with notes and books. I'll be busy the whole week. My break starts on mid of August for only 2 Weeks! So sad, other college got 1month break!

XoXo,

Life in the Hectic Pace

I have so much work to do, but yet so little time. There's been a controversy inside me on whether which one should I finish up first, and I end up wasting time doing nothing. Is this a kind of sickness or weakness? Sometimes, after finishing a work, I feel not satisfied with the result but I can't do a thing to make it better! Is this a good or bad thing inside a student? I feel dissatisfied even if I put all my effort in doing things. I'm wondering if such situations occur in other student.

Life in the Hectic Pace! Yes, very busy. I'm loaded with responsibility that I have to bear them. College life is never easy. Yes, this is just the first semester! People might say that I'm boosting, but who cares? This is my blog, I write whatever I want to. These coming weeks will be my busiest moment in this semester. I'll have 5 presentations which one of them is on next Friday, and 1 public speaking two more weeks from now. I'm having tests, one on tomorrow and two on next week. Presentation slides not finished, not enough time to study for test, assignments not finished. I personally think that group assignments troubled me a lot as the member kept on delaying their work.

Friend or Foe? Two word are used name an individual. The answer is BOTH! I have this so-called friend or to be specific , my classmate , which is jealous of me getting higher marks in English test, Business test and Maths test. He did not talk to me since Monday and he makes me feel that I'm in the wrong for getting more marks than him. He wanted to win everybody, and yet I'm not the highest scorer in all the subject. In business test, he got 23.5/30 , i got 26/30 which I did not expect to score that high, and another guy scored 26.5/30 which is a business pathway student. In college, there is no need for you to compare your test marks or other thing with your classmate. You should have feel the satisfaction after scoring what you should have score. One thing i know is that he have been submitting past year questions for the lecturers to check his answer, but I still get better result than him which is the prime factor that he's not satisfied of his hard work. I can guarantee that if some of you acting like him, you're gonna be diminished by your own weakness.

I grateful that I have my sister to accompany me in this semester, teaching me so much thing. I'm thankful for my friends who visits my blog to share my taught and feelings. I'm thankful to have such wonderful friends in Malacca! ! Thank you all for reading something I wrote.

X y L E~

P/S : I'll not be updating my blog till end of July. I'll try to upload at least one post a week , most probably on Saturday or Sunday. Check out my blog till then.

Immatured College Student

It has been established through rigorous scientific investigation and analysis that University students who have not reached an adult level maturity tend to exhibit certain perceptible thoughts and behaviors. A careful observer should be able to discern these traits, and thus be able to conclude that the student exhibiting these qualities is in fact immature.

The following is a list of behaviors and thought processes commonly exhibited by immature university students:

1. Blaming someone or something other than oneself for poor grades. Immature students tend to say such things as: "The professor made the test too hard", "The professor is boring", "I can’t understand the teacher", and "There was just too much to learn".

2. Believing that certain parts of one’s disposition are fixed and cannot be changed. This leads to such statements as "I’ve just never been good at________", or "I just can’t do well on multiple choice tests".

3. Believing that the courses one is doing poorly in are a waste of time and not necessary for whatever vocation one plans to enter. This is closely tied to the belief that the University will provide you with specific vocational skills that will be good for the next 35 years. All other knowledge is irrelevant.

4. Believing that one can do well academically if one does not attend class. This is closely related to the belief that classes are a waste of time.

5. Believing that some older and wiser person is going to tell you everything you needs to know regarding coursework, academic planning, requirements, etc. This belief naturally absolves one from taking responsibility for their own learning.

6. Believing that students who do well academically are either: (a) nerds who have no life, (b) just plain lucky, or (c) in possession of secret knowledge or skills that allows them to make good grades while studying very little.

7. Finding time for socializing, shopping, watching TV, partying, etc., and then claiming one does not have enough time to read the textbook or study for tests.

8. Putting off everything related to schoolwork until the last minute. Everyone procrastinates, however immature students procrastinate habitually.

9. Never knowing when tests are scheduled, when assignments are due, or what chapter the instructor is talking about. Also not being able to find one’s class notes, homework, instructions for assignments, or syllabi. In general being totally disorganized.

10. Always asking friends if one can copy their notes and asking such questions as "Did we do anything important in class today?"

11. Believing that homework and outside assignments are in no way related to the grade one will eventually receive in the course.

12. Being late for, or totally forgetting about appointments.

13. A daily routine that includes staying up all night and sleeping until noon.

14. A lack of awareness of anything that is going on outside of one’s immediate circle of friends. This leads to the belief that events occurring on a local, state, or national level are not important and/or boring.

15. A preoccupation with the consumption of alcohol. Immature students spend a lot of time talking about and thinking about events leading up to the consumption of alcohol, events that occurred while one was consuming alcohol, and events that occurred after one became intoxicated.

Not all immature students exhibit all of the above behaviors, however a good rule of thumb is that the more of these behaviors a student exhibits, the greater the level of his or her immaturity. Curiously, immature students do not realize they are immature. They believe that in fact, that they are the ones who are totally mature and the rest of the University community just does not understand them. This is just another characteristic of immature university students.

Unfortunately there is no quick and easy cure for immaturity in college students. Development can be a slow process and occurs at different rates in different people. Many students end up experiencing academic disappointment in the form of low grades before they realize that they are now responsible for their own life and their behaviors can either help them or hurt them academically.
